Rayon

We know you'll love our gorgeous rayon dresses. Most are dyed using a technique called Low-Water Immersion. This method results in an unusual blending of colors, reminiscent of a water-color painting where the colors have run together.

Rayon is an interesting fabric. Unlike most, which are equally strong when wet or dry, rayon become VERY weak when wet and tears or frays easily. Therefore, you must be careful when you wash your rayon piece. Washing by hand is best. Dry-clean if necessary. If you choose to machine-wash, put it in a washing bag for delicate fabrics, like a hosiery bag. Follow the label directions for water temperature. We do not recommend machine-drying.

Should I iron my rayon dress? It's so wrinkly! It depends on the variety of rayon. In general, rayon looks good smooth or wrinkled...it will always hang perfectly and the wrinkles tend to work themselves out pretty fast. Some varieties of rayon should never be ironed, as the wrinkles are what gives the fabric its character and flow. Our Rayon Gauze dress should NOT be ironed. If you must iron, use the Rayon setting on your iron. A cool setting is best. Most wrinkles will press out with just the weight of the iron, without any heat or steam.
